AVENT teats are made from soft pure medical grade silicone and shaped to mimic the breast in form and function. Breast fed babies will accept the AVENT teat more easily and will happily go back to the breast, so combining breast and bottle feeding is easier with AVENT. AVENT teats never collapse and have been clinically proven to reduce colic in newborn babies.
- Contains 2 spouts
- Made of Silicone
- Contains no BPA
- Do NOT put in Dishwasher. Hand wash or boil in hot water for 5 minutes.
- Works well with the 12 oz w/ Adapter Cap bottle from Klean Kanteen.
To use with the Klean Kanteen:
- Purchase the 12oz w/ Sippy Adapter and Spouts
- If you already have the 12oz bottle, simply purchase the Sippy Adapter Cap by Klean Kanteen
- Wash the spout well by boiling for 5 minutes. Then completely DRY the spout before installation. If the spout is dry, you will not get leaks. That is a tip directly from many mothers who have told us this pearl.
- Unscrew the black Adapter Cap
- Place your hand on the end of the nipple and pull it through the open top part of the Adapter Cap. Pull the spout until it gets held in place well inside the Adapter Cap.
- Screw the Adapter Cap back together. Do not over-tighten as this may cause it to leak. Snug is enough.
- That's it! You now have a safe baby bottle for your little one to drink from.
Warnings:
Inspect nipple immediately before and after each use and throw away when worn, damaged or punctured, for example by biting. Before use, wash thoroughly and sterilize in an Avent electrical or microwave steam sterilizer, in sterilizing solution following the manufacturer's instructions, or by boiling in water for at least five minutes. Always wash immediately after use. Keep in a dry, covered container. Do not leave in sunlight when not in use.
Infants must not be bottle fed without adult supervision.
Feeding nipples should not be used as dummies, pacifiers, or soothers. Continuous sucking on a bottle may cause tooth decay.
Do not use with Avent Disposable System.
Use clear nipples with reusable bottles and blue nipples with disposable nursers.
Best option for pumping moms who work - By: olivia_michael

These are the same as the one hole nipples that come with every new Avent bottle. I went back to work only 6 weeks after the birth of my daughter and I believe the unique shape and anti collapse design of this nipple kept her from becoming confused and preferring a bottle.
For moms who nurse, I would not recommend more than the two hole slow flow nipples, even with an older baby. The slow flow rate makes them realize that the faster easier way to get milk is from natures source, your breast! Even with the one hole flow rate, my daughter finishes off a bottle in 10 minutes flat, I don't worry that she needs a faster flow.

When my daughter was born I planned to strictly breastfeed her for the first month at least. However, complications from jaundice forced us to introduce the bottle on her 5th day of life. The Avent system with the Newborn Nipple allowed us to provide her with both expressed breast milk and formula supplements with ease. Since then I've tried other bottles & nipples. Nothing compares to the gentle flow of the Avent Nipple which feeds her at just the right pace to avoid gas and spitting up later. We now use nothing but!
Avent Variable Nipples Are A Life Saver! - By: PAL

The Avent Variable Flow Nipples allow formula mixed with cereal to pass through the nipple hole with ease. At a baby's young age, when the flow must still be relatively slow, you can turn the nipple so the Number I that's embossed in the nipple is lined up with the baby's mouth. This allows the formula mixed with cereal to still pass through the nipple hole easily, but doesn't cause the baby to choke due to the formula flowing too quickly. As your baby gets older, you can turn the nipple in his mouth so the Number II is lined up with the baby's mouth and this allows for a quicker flow, and, ultimately to the Number III "setting". The only two negative things I can say about these nipples is that (1) you can't find them in any store. After finding the initial two packs of nipples in a popular baby store, I had to buy the next two packs over the Internet. They weren't available in any store. And (2), there are no instructions with the nipples to explain how the variable flow works and how the numbers correlate with the rate of the flow.
