Care:

Klean Kanteens are dishwasher safe (washing caps in the dishwasher is not recommended because H2O can squeeze itself into the cap) or easy to clean with a bottle brush and mild soap. We recommend an old fashioned cleaner: white vinegar and baking soda.

We've switched to these from plastic water bottles after being reprimanded by my son's doctor that is treating him for Asperger's/ADHD. We are all happy with the sport's cap (myself, husband, 4 and 7 y.o.). I would definitely recommend buying at least 1 tote/person if you drink the drink at anything other than room temperature. The bottle gets very warm and very cold based on the temperature of the liquid and we found it uncomfortable to hold without the tote. The totes are easy to slip on/off and also help identify whose bottle is whose.

I recently purchased 3 water bottles from you. My water bottle top (sport top) seems to be malfunctioning. when I sip from the top it makes the noise of air going through and water is not really getting to my mouth easily. Is this common?

Answer:
To remedy this issue simply loosen up the top until you notice that there is no more noise coming from the bottle. The bottle should not leak either, just be loose enough so it does not squeak and the water flow improves.

We have purchased from you before. Recently I began wondering about the safety of stainless steel since it is made up of copper and other metals that have links to toxicity. Do you have any research to share that you are working on regarding the safetey of stainless steeel? Thank you -Karen F.

Klean Kanteens go through testing. I have seen their lab reports.

Klean Kanteens are constructed of high quality, sanitary grade 304 stainless steel. 304 has a low nickel content and is preferred by breweries and dairies.

I have not heard of any toxicity reports from anywhere regarding 18/8 (grade 304) stainless steel - and I do not expect to.

I do expect to hear toxicity reports on other products such as polyethylene, polypropylene at some point.
