Esophagitis and Gastritis: Dr Ben Consult

Chronic esophagitis and gastritis can be healed once the causes are known and isolated.

• L Glutamine Powder – 15 grams mixed in a quart/liter water bottle and drink throughout the day and when you have bouts of reflux/burning
• Intestinal Repair Complex – 2 scoops mixed in a cup of filtered water 2-3 times a day (or add to the L Glutamine Powder in your water bottle). Taper down as you can comfortably.
• ProBiota 12 Powder: ¼ teaspoon for 1 week and then ½ teaspoon for a few weeks and then down to 1/8 teaspoon for maintenance dose. Take after dinner
• Manuka Honey: take a tablespoon between meals as desired.

Given you have been taking antacids for so long, you are likely low in vitamin B12 and folic acid.

I highly recommend you supplement with B12 and Folic Acid by taking 1 capsule of HomocysteX once to twice daily. Do not take past 2 pm as it will keep you up at night if taken later.

If you are still drinking a lot of coffee, weaning off it is a must. 

In order to get off of coffee, eat every couple hours especially with some form of protein to balance your blood sugar (key to energy maintenance). 

Then supplement also with Adrenal Support Plus by Biogenesis. Consider taking 2 capsules of Adrenal Support Plus in the AM with breakfast and 2 capsules at lunch - not after 2 PM. You will likely notice an increase in stable energy and your desire for caffeine will be greatly diminished.

Other things:

• Eat smaller meals
• Avoid foods/drinks which flare it
• Chew your food well
• Avoid drinks during meals – drink before and after but not during as they dilute stomach acid
• Taper off the medications as you can and as your doctor states.
