Iodine is essential for the production of thyroid hormones. Liquid Iodine is very well absorbed compared to tablets. Potassium Iodide is a preferred form of iodine for the thyroid. Taking a liquid potassium iodide has faster absorption compared to potassium iodide tablets or potassium iodide capsules.
The USA is very Iodine deficient. More than 50% of pregnant women were found to be iodine deficient.
Liquid Iodine in the form of Potassium Iodine helps prevent:
- thyroid disorders
- radioactive iodine binding to the thyroid
- mental retardation in the developing fetus
What is Liquid Iodine Potassium Iodide used for?
Minerals are essential, but are depleted in most people, probably because of
today’s over-fertilized, over-pesticized farming. Since heavy metals
(“bad minerals”), such as Mercury, lead, cadmium, etc., are more
prevalent in our society then ever before, it is believed that the intake of
“good minerals” will help remove those toxins (bad minerals)
One mineral can, and will, displace another with the same ionic value. By
taking good minerals, we help displace bad minerals & mobilize them out of
the body. It’s a double nutritional hit: adding needed minerals and
detoxing at the same time.
Why is Iodine as Potassium Iodide in liquid form?
Minerals taken in liquid form, such as Iodine, Potassium Iodide, are more readily absorbed in the body. Using the BodyBio Mineral Taste Test Kit gives you the ability to taste them and then
take only the ones you need.
Is the dosage listed on each bottle suitable for a child?
Yes, however if the child is taking other supplements or medications, we
recommend speaking with a health care practitioner. Since the dosage is
measured in drops, the dosage is easily adjustable.
Why does Liquid Iodine need to be taken with Vitamin C? How
much Vitamin C is needed?
A pinch of Vitamin C is added to our Liquid Iodine because it helps to
make the minerals more bio-available to the body.
Are your liquid minerals Ionic or Colloidal? Why-what is the
difference?
E-Lyte Liquid minerals are ionic. Ionic minerals dissolve in aqueous
solution (water), while colloidal minerals are suspended in aqueous
solution.
Are there any side effects from taking Liquid Minerals?
None have ever been reported to us.
Can your Liquid Iodine be taken on an empty stomach?
Yes, liquid iodine can be taken on an empty stomach.

Question:
How Does Taking Iodine Affect the Thyroid?
Answer:
Q: Some health care professionals say iodine is toxic. However, I know it is a mineral. Why is there such confusion about this? Also, how does taking the Iodine Liquid Mineral #9 by BodyBio affect the thyroid? Does it cure hypothyroidism?
A: Your questions are valid. Anything for the most part, if taken in excess, becomes toxic - even water. Following recommended doses by your physician is important. Iodine is an essential mineral for the thyroid gland as it makes up the bulk percentage of the T3 and T4 hormone's chemical structure. Iodine can cure hypothyroidism if the hypothyroidism is due to iodine deficiency. A simple random spot urine iodine test can determine if you are deficient in iodine - and numerous people are deficient in iodine. For instance, a study found 50% of pregnant mothers in Boston were deficient in iodine. Hypothyroidism has many causes: low iodine, adrenal fatigue, low magnesium, low zinc, low selenium, environmental toxins such as perchlorates and so on.
There is no set regimen for taking any product - one always has to monitor dosage and regulate based on laboratory values and symptoms. If your lab reports show that your T4 levels are normal but your T3 levels are low, that is a common problem. Many docs will prescribe Cytomel for this - which is fine for some but in my opinion, I would not prescribe it to my patients. Instead, I would address the cause why T4 is not converting to T3 - and that is due typically to stress. T4 goes to rT3 when one is under stress. rT3 is not active T3. To get active T3 from T4, one has to have the needed nutrients in the biochemical pathway. The main nutrients in the T4 to T3 pathway are: selenium zinc magnesium I treat my patients individually - depending upon symptoms, history and lab values.
There is no one right way to treat hypothyroidism. You may find the Liquid Mineral Taste Test Kit Plus to be helpful - it has all 9 minerals in it plus a taste tester for each mineral. This is an interesting method which I find useful. If stress and anxiety is an issue, then addressing adrenal health is paramount. If one's adrenals are fatigued, then one commonly may become hypothyroid as well. Therefore, treating the adrenals first may remove the hypothyroidism. Finding a good physician is a must for properly treating thyroid conditions - and any condition for that matter. I am soon going to provide consultations online. There is a need for this I am finding. I hope this information helps you.
