Peat is known for its capacity to retain heat. These heating packs are
filled with over one inch thick of peat. Not only does the peat provide heat
for a long duration, but its pure weight adds therapeutic value. In order for
the patient to receive a proper treatment, the heating pack must be heavy
enough to lay equally across the patient's skin. This way, the patient is
assured even coverage and a good outcome.
These heating packs are designed to be used with the single foment peat
packs. The sizes are the same so work is easy. Lay the foment down on the
patient, then place the heating pack on top - done.
These packs are meant to be heated in a heating pack. They are not intended
to be heated in a microwave or oven. This will ruin the covering and unevenly
heat the peat.

Question:
How Long do the Hydropacks by Torf Spa Last?
Answer:
Q: Are these packs reusable? If so how many uses for one? If you are to directly place them on the skin ow do you sanitize?
A: Yes the HydroPacks by Torf Spa are reusable. They last for years when properly cared for.
The HydroPacks are also superior to other types of heating packs as they:
- Remain hot for much longer
- Do not contain ridges causing uneven heating
- Release natural heat from Moor Mud and not chemical gels or granules.
- Do not stain or mold.
- Easy to dry off and store.
For cleaning:
Simply wipe down when done as you do with your massage table.
To Heat:
Heating them is easiest if you use a Roaster Oven that is similar to this:
http://www.asia.ru/images/target/photo/50018950/Roaster_Oven.jpg
1. Put the bottom rack in so the HydroPack does not touch the heating units directly.
2. Simply fill the unit with water above the HydroPack by about 2 inches.
3. Allow the HydroPack to get up to temperature. Do not exceed 130 degrees F.
4. Remove the HydroPack with padded tongs.
5. Lay the HydroPack in towels and place onto your patient's back ensuring the temperature is comfortable.
Important tips:
- Do not use steam to heat the HydroPacks. Steam is much hotter than water and will ruin the HydroPacks
- Do not drop the HydroPacks. They will burst.
- Do not stack heavy items on the HydroPacks. They will burst.
- Storage: Wrap them individually in a small towel.
The Moor Therme Mud Detox Packs are not reusable. They are intended as single use as they absorb toxins from the body and release the nutrients into the skin. Repetitive uses will not be beneficial.
