Torf Krasno Peat:  Used as body wrap or peat pack

 

Torf Natural Peat Bath, because of its consistency, is excellent for mud body wrap or peat pack. Use for general detoxification, poor mobility issues, muscle spasms, sprains, strains, pain treatment, acne, eczema, chest congestion, psoriasis, reduction body wrap or cellulite reduction.  Versatile in that it may be used hot or cold – depending on patient’s complaint.

 

 

Hot Peat uses:  detox, acne, stiffness, chronic spasm, pain, chest congestion, most chronic conditions.

Cold Peat uses:  acute pain, acute swelling, acute sprain, most acute conditions with pain and swelling.

 

(If treatment area is localized, large and flat, consider using the Torf Krasno single peat foments as they are easier to manage, fast and as effective.)

 

Be well hydrated.  Drink water well for a week before treatment.  Do not drink caffeine prior just before treatment or after.  After treatment, maintain hydration as without fatigue or headache may result.

 

Do not place on open wounds and ensure sensation to temperature is present. 

 

To Heat Peat:  Boil water in pot.  Place peat inside glass jar or steel bowl.  Place peat container into hot water.  Add hot water to peat for desired consistency.  Wait few minutes until desired temperature.  Peat should be hot but not boiling.  (No microwave.  Microwave is inconsistent heating and result may burn the client.  Microwave and boiling also destroys beneficial nutrients and bioactive enzymes in the peat thereby rendering the treatment ineffective.)

 

Ensure temperature of peat is not going to burn.  Apply even layer of hot peat to treatment area or whole body.  Wrap treatment area and/or body in a thermal blanket or foil.  Treatment time:  20 minutes.  Rinse off peat without soap.  Relax wrapped in dry blanket for 20 minutes.  No soap for 12 hours post therapy as soap washes off beneficial nutrients prevents treatment from progressing. 

 

Keep client warm and out of drafts for 3 hours.  Have client drink warm water afterwards. Cold water post treatment will shock the system.

 

Limit treatment to 3 times per week for 3 weeks then give a week off and repeat if needed.

 

May feel fatigued after treatment, this is normal.  The treatment is powerful.  Rest and drink plenty of filtered water.  Repeat in two to three days.

 

The client should notice a improvement within a week at the latest with proper treatment.  Most patients will feel something immediately.

 

To Cool Peat:  Place peat in freezer for 10 minutes or until very cold.  Do not freeze.  Add cold water for desired consistency.

 

Apply cold peat to treatment area for 20 to 30 minutes.  Wrap with saran wrap or foil.  Cover with wet cold towel followed by dry towel.   Repeat daily or as needed to reduce swelling and acute pains.

 

Swelling and pain typically gone after one treatment.  If swelling or pain returns, repeat.  Remember, cold is for acute conditions typically.  Cold may be used in contrast therapy, also.
