About Consult with Dr Ben Lynch - 30 Minutes or More

Frustrated with ongoing health problems? No matter what you do you are not getting the results you want?

There are 1000's that have been in a similar place as you - fed up.

With the help from Dr Ben Lynch, most people who were fed up with their health problems improved tremendously. Their hope restored and desire to take charge of their health ignited.

It is your turn to start feeling better. It is possible. You may believe there is nothing else to try. There is. You wouldn't be here if you didn't think that was true.

Consult a Doctor at HealthE Goods brings you one-on-one with Dr Ben, a naturopathic physician. Dr Ben is an expert in digestive disorders, environmental illness, chronic disease, autoimmune disorders, MTHFR, pediatrics, biochemistry, nutrition, detoxification, endocrinology, physiology, disease prevention, health promotion and is passionate about epigenetics.

Dr Ben is not about to 'tell you' what to do nor is he about to diagnose, treat or prescribe.

I'm done talking in the third person...

Bottom line is I am passionate about helping people, such as yourself, get out of the rut of standarized medicine or simply a rut of not feeling well. It is actually quite simple to start feeling better once you have the tools, information and drive to do so.

I provide you the information, some tools and help restart your drive towards obtaining health.

It is my job, as a doctor, to educate people. That is actually want doctor means. Doctor means 'to teach.'

Issue is most doctors think doctor means 'to prescribe, cut, medicate or over-supplement.'

I am not your normal doctor. Not by any stretch of the mind. I don't have an 'active' clinic because I don't believe in helping only a few people a day. I want to help 1000's a day. I can do that online.

By helping you, I help others.

How?

The moment you and I begin talking, our conversation is being recorded. I post that recording online for others to hear, comment on and learn from.

There is total absolute confidentiality because we have not identified your name, your work or where you live.

Phone Consults are $300 per hour and are prorated to the time used. A minimum of 30 minutes is required. Your satisfaction is completely guaranteed. Not happy with the information Dr Ben provided you during the consult, let him know immediately and a full refund will be issued.

Have Labs or Records? Want a Second Opinion?

If you would like to have Dr Ben evaluate your past labs, this service is also available.

Dr Ben is quite fast. Typically, most reports can be read by Dr Ben within 30 minutes. For the complicated labs, it may take over an hour - especially the Metametrix ION Panel as this requires a lot of biochemical sleuthing.

Keep in mind that 911 is your best bet for emergency situations and so is your physician.

Here are most of the completed Follow Up Surveys received from those who have consulted with Dr Ben:

From ‘Martin’:

“Yes, you have expert knowledge that others are not yet aware of!”

Did I answer your questions well?

“Completely.”

“I believe that Dr Ben really does care about people and the issues that we face with Western Medicine and the unwillingess of Doctors to even consider alternatives. His passion for getting the information we need about nutrition to help us from falling into the Prescription quicksand comes across when you talk to him. I’m impressed that he took the time to talk to me, and I’m not even his patient.”

Would you recommend me to friends?

“Yes – because you were on time for the call, your passion for helping people came through over the phone. I beleive you really do care about people and the issues that we face with Western Medicine and the unwillingess of Doctors to even consider alternatives.”

“Yes. I have many friends with MTHFR and they are not on the proper treatment. They are put on a “hamster wheel” and are given medications and treatments that are killing them.  From ‘Lori’:

“Was helpful to discuss my husband’s condition, Hep C with Dr. Ben. It is encouraging to know that we don’t have to accept a death sentence. Trying to talk with a doctor is often quite frustrating, they don’t want to discuss what they are doing. I like to be on the inside, and learn about the treatments so I can make a decision. I appreciate the help in going over supplements and alternative treatments, which really should be called primary treatments. Dr. Ben has good bedside manner, and is patient. “This is the second consult I have had with Dr. Ben, one for my husband and one for myself. Dr. Ben is amazing! The information he provides makes sense and is highly beneficial to improving my health! I also love his website and can see where he puts quality supplements together. I learned a long time ago that not all supplements are equal. I wish more Doctor’s would take the time to explain the “why” of the ailment and suggest a natural approach. Dr. Ben has confirmed with me through both conversations that there is plenty of research on natural approaches, if only mainstream doctor’s could get it! There needs to be more Dr. Ben’s around! Thank you very much for caring this much about my health.”

Would you recommend me to friends and family? Why?

“Yes, because you are very knowledable and helpful.”

From ‘Abigail’:

“The phone consult was extremely helpful, and Dr. Ben took the time to thoroughly talk through ideas and options for treatment, including looking at a bigger picture than just the issue I called about, in order to address overall health. I really appreciated his knowledge, patience, and willingness to share.”

Would you recommend me to friends and family? Why?

“Yes – there’s so much confusion about natural treatments and health; it’s really valuable to have someone knowledgeable walk you through your questions!”

Was I clear in my thoughts?

“Absolutely. I have suffered with daily gas/bloating issues for eleven months. In the process of searching for the reason, I have found several contributing factors such as gluten and dairy but still the problem persisted. Today’s call with Dr. Ben brought up new and logical causes. I am thrilled with the natural solutions he suggested and look forward to implementing them AND seeing the results. I truly believe I am on my way to a cure. Oh Happy Day! Not only has he probably cured my gas/bloating problem but I may be able to stop taking Nexium in the near future. This was an extra bonus and most welcomed.”

Would you recommend me to friends?

“Yes, and family too. I already have. My son, ___, ordered some items recently. Also, I wanted to tell you on the call but knew not to use names but my ND is _____. She recommended your site to me last year when I needed a SAD lamp. I guess you two went to college together and she speaks very highly of you. She is awesome as well and welcomes other respected doctors opinions.”

Did I answer your questions well?

“Completely and I believe your suggestions will help me a lot and in time, heal my gut. I look forward to seeing the follow-up email later so I can order/purchase the products I need to get started.”

Was I clear in my thoughts?

“Yes, the explanation about how the antibiotics have hurt me, what could be the problems, and the ideas of what will help were clear. I didn’t worry about my spelling of H-pilory (?) and other terms in my notes because I know it’ll be in your follow-up email.”

There would be less sickness if naturopathic doctors were available as well for many situations that western medicine is not necessary. There is a place for both. Dr. Ben seems to view holistic healing with the nutritional side of the situation giving you an accurate solution. Now it is up to the client to follow thru to get results.”

greatful for advice re:family member and anaphylactic shock
Dr. Ben was so kind, considerate, and knowledgeable when I called him to ask for advice concerning a family member who was dealing with anaphylactic shock. I was in a bit of distress at the time and it was helpful to get good recommendations from him. At the same time he understood about my predicament about problem solving the health issue for this family member, while at the same time honoring the loved one’s need to choose for himself/herself the best approach.
Dr. Ben was a God Send at a time for critical need.

Gave me my quality of life back!
For over a month I have been following the regimen of supplements that Dr. Ben recommended in his consult for me for my MTHFR mutations, and the severe depression that resulted from them. I am happy to say that I feel so much better, I am going OFF of disability and going back to work. I am off my SSNRIs and my anxiety has reduced considerably. I feel "normal" again and I am starting to enjoy life. I am grateful to Dr. Ben for giving me my quality of life back!

Dr. Ben helped me improve my health by giving me insight on the MTHFR gene mutation that I have. My health has improved tremendously . My hair is no longer falling out of my head. • From metastisized pancreatic cancer at 12/10/11 4:08 PM
    • My husband has reoccuring pancreatic cancer following chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. It is complicated now by obstructing a part of small bowel, requiring a biliary drain. If he can get strong enough the only conventional option is stronger chemotherapy. We have no access to IV Vitamin C. Is there a way that oral vitamin C may help with the cancer and/or with side effects of the chemo?
    • Hello -

I send my best to your husband.

I highly recommend you and he read the book called Gerson Therapy by Charlotte Gerson who is the daughter of Max Gerson, MD. You can learn more at www.Gerson.org

There are many things that can be done naturally and nutritionally for cancer but it depends on the cancer, the oncologist and the treatments he is currently on.

Oral vitamin C such as Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C may be beneficial along with Pectasol, Melatonin, Onco X by Biogenesis, VItamin D.

      Onco X is here:
      http://www.healthegoods.com/onco-x-150-vegetable-capsules-by-biogenesis.html

      Melatonin is here:
      http://www.healthegoods.com/melatonin-biogenesis.html

If he has mouth ulcers and stomach pain, L-Glutamine Powder should be used. This is also important to help gain weight.

      Pectasol

Pancreatic enzymes -very high dose- are typically recommended for those with cancer. This is explained a bit in the Gerson Therapy book. I am not recommending them to you personally. I need to study this information more along with reading Gerson's book again.

If he'd like to schedule a consult with me, he may do so by calling 800-689-8221.

I send you both my positive thoughts.

    • Hi Dr. Ben,
Thank you for publishing this valuable information online. I have thyroid cancer and a thyroid nodule too. I'm on alternative medicine for the last 5 months along with a change on my lifestyle. Since I don't have any hormonal problems, I don't know if Myomin will be beneficial for me.
Thanks in advance for your time.
      Carol
    • Hi Carol -

I am not sure if Myomin would be good for you either. It is typically used for those with elevated estrogen.

Have you read the Gerson Therapy books? If not - I highly recommend you do so.

  • From Cabbage Juice for Gastritis at 1/10/12 4:44 PM
    • I was diagnosed with mild to moderate gastritis last month. I was taking Zantac for almost a month and half. I didn't want to take pills for a long time so I started natural remedy at home. I have been drinking half a quart of raw cabbage juice for the last 1-2 weeks. My gastritis symptoms have improved a lot but I am a bit concerned about taking cabbage juice since I have read reports that drinking cabbage juice can affect thyroid. Can I safely take cabbage juice for a couple of more weeks without worrying about thyroid?

      Please advise.
      Sincere Thanks!
    • Hello -

I do not worry about cabbage juice and thyroid.

      Let food by thy medicine.

You may want to avoid grains as grains are commonly a cause of gastritis - but I assume you watched my video on this which explains cabbage juice?

Glad that it is working well for you!

  • From Gastritis associated with H Pylori at 1/11/12 7:45 AM
    • Dear Dr. Ben,
Thanks for promptly answering my question reagardgin cabbage juice and thyroid. I have one more question. Your youtube post on gastritis mentions that antacids lower the stomach pH and in fact help H pylori proliferate. What can be done in order to increase the pH of the stomach? Is it safe while the gastritis has not healed completely? I do not want to go the triple therapy route since my endoscopy results show a small number of H pylori so I would like to try natural remedies instead which I believe should get rid of the low number of the bacteria. Please advise.

I will be scheduling a consulting appointment with you in a few days.
      Thanks again!
    • Hello -

If you are off antacids, the safest way to increase stomach acid production is to RELAX before eating and not be stressed out. Stress causes the stomach acid to shut down.

I do not recommend supplementing with Betaine HCl at this point or using apple cider vinegar if the inside of your stomach is very sore or has an ulcer.

There is an herb called Gentiana which is very very bitter. If you place one drop of this in an ounce of water and sip before meals, this will stimulate your digestion.

There are select supplements you will need to get rid of the H pylori. I can go into detail on those for you during the consult - and how to use them - along with preventing H pylori from coming back.

    • Dear Dr. Ben,

I would like to set a consultation appointment with you but have two questions first. I also pasted below my daughter's history, and I have ordered your protocol supplemenation for bipolar sympthoms. I also just found out today that I have a copy of the A1298C gene and a copy of the C677T gene, my daughter has two C677Ts. I also found out that my blood platelets are low 100 but my hemotologist said that because I had two good pregnencies (i threw up for 9 months 3 times a day) I have nothing to worry about. In the mean time for the past year my back is filling up with red blood dots that are sometimes itchy. (Petichiae?) I know you can't order lab work because i'm from New York and i haven't found a doctor that takes this seriously and that accepts my insurance. Can we work via phone? Finally, is there a correlation between blood type and MTHFR. My daugther is blood type A which according to Dr. Damato should be totally vegerarian?
thanks again for all your support!!!

      Dear Dr. Ben,

Your work is a blessing! I know and feel that you are truly concerned and determined to help. My 18 year old daughter was diagnosed with a homozygous MTHFR C 677T gene mutation at 17.

I insisted that before she would go on birth control she would make sure she didn’t have what I just knew at that time to be a blood cloging condition that both my sister and I have. The results came back as I stated above and to my dismay, the hematologist and the obgyn and her intern doctor all were perfectly fine with prescribing her birth control.

In a year she tried 5 different ones, the side effects would change but all after 3 months would bring her to slur her words, loose her balance and be dissoriented. The pills altered her mind so much that she couldn’t see the writing on the wall that birth control pills were a danger to her life. Finally, after her 4th emergency room trip, and after uncovering the following she stopped taking them.

In the ER I read her “Unremarkable” MR angiogram that she took 9 months before to rule out stroke. In the circle of Willis, her Right A1 segment is hypoplastic but is a normal anotomic variant. At that point we convinced her that we didn’t care how normal that variant was and that together with the MTHFR gene mutation it was crazy to have her still on the pill. We had her start taking baby asprins as a precaution.

You know after all of this her NYU neurologist still dismissed us. I don’t care what anyone says but I know that it was a miracle that she survived this medication.

Not surprising throughout this ordeal. she was also diagnosis as border line bipolar. I’ve been insisting for months now that the bipolar is a sympthom not the cause. At one point her b12 was 70 and we started giving her b12 but we didn’t realize until very recently from a Thyroid Coach that it must be Methylcobalamin not cyanocobalamin. Then a spark went up when I put two and two together and saw the relationship between methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase and Methylcobalamin. I learned of how important this vitamin is for detoxing the liver and that people with MTHFR don’t have this help!

Now she is in college and off birth control for almost two months. She is still having lots of sleep issues, migraines, hand and tongue shaking, and sharp pains in her arm with tingling and she doesn’t have an injury. Her blood pressure which at one point in the summer scored to 190/80 seems to have stabilized more. With the exception of the high blood pressure, we know that these are all signs of B12 defficiencies. The problem is that only once in 6 times that we checked her B12 vit level did the result show up positive.

I hope you can hear in our story, how overwhelmed, distraught and helpless we feel. All three are dealing with it differently. I know I’m becoming obsessed about helping her and neglecting so many of my other responsibilities. It’s just that in my heart I know how serious this all is and that if we don’t acknowledge and do something about MTHFR we will pay the consequences.

I can’t thank you enough Dr. Ben! You are our answer to our prayers! Let us know how we can help.

      All the best,
      Rosa
    • Rosa -

I am not sure if blood types relate to MTHFR - at the moment I would say 'no.'

I can work with providing you information and suggestions over the phone. I can also recommend lab test which your local doctor can order for you.

Your compound heterozyous MTHFR mutation is serious and must be addressed.

The itchy red dots on your back - please show them to your doctor and have them evaluate.

Look forward to working with you and helping you both get better!

    • I had emailed you some time ago about having hetero c677t and A1298c and diagnosed with chemical sensitivity evolving into environmental and food sensitivities. I was placed on aerosolized glutathione ,deplin and b12 plus alpha lipoic acid. I began to have manic like symptoms, high b12 levels and one point above normal homocysteine levels/slightly elevated calcium/muscle twitching/very cold painful feet/itching after I ate. Then I had several acute gallbladder attacks, watery diarrhea and rapid extreme weight loss. I opted for a cholecystectomy and continue to fade to debility. You recommended histamine levels to be drawn (and other?)-my naturopath chose to just have me stop the deplin/b12. I have now near debilitated with tremors, foggy brain, esophageal burning unresponsive to H1 and H2 meds/abdominal pains with eating-basically mastocytosis-like symptoms with the flushing , vasodilation and near syncope when I wake in the morning and when I eat anything. Is there not a treatment for 5mthfr defect that is geared towards someone with high histamine levels? Could the mastocytosis symptoms be a result of poor methylation or a primary cause of all of my symptoms? I have a 20 year history of ulcerative colitis but am now being told the inflammation in my gut is not UC or Crohns but they don't know what it is and I am not being treated for it. My 14 year old daughter has just recently been diagnosed with UC and is having the same mastocytsis symptoms as me, is missing school due to lightheadedness, nausea, fatigue since having the upper and lower endoscopies. The GI doc says shes dehydrated and to push fluids but that doesn't seem to be working. She has the hetero c677t mutation only. I know you offer consultations-this has been an 18 month quest for me without positive results and now I am trying to help my daughter-any course of action that I can take to our naturopath or other physicians would be appreciated.
    • Hello -

I am glad your ND stopped the Deplin.

There are likely other mutations causing issues - beyond the MTHFR.

If you take a little niacin - true niacin - not niacinamide - and you flush readily - that is a simple test showing that you may have elevated histamine.

The niacin actually helps lower histamine.

Your MTHFR mutation actually helps increase the levels of histamine because in order to reduce histamine, it needs to be methylated. Deplin is very strong and I am not a fan of it in most cases. A lower amount of MTHF may be useful for you along with niacin.

The area to address first though is your gut.

Healing your gut also is inhibited through the MTHFR mutation because this enzyme is needed to produce DNA/RNA and repair the gut lining.

A consult is needed here and so are labs.

Here are some recommended labs your doctor should consider ordering:
      http://mthfr.net/mthfr-mutation-consider-these-laboratory-tests/2012/01/02/

I am almost ready to announce a multi SNP panel but it is not yet done. Another week or two and then you need to order this test.
