The Rhodiola rosea extract in Calm-PRT Jr. is standardized to contain 16% rosavins, which have been found to decrease the effects of stress and fatigue.

Calm-PRT Jr. is designed to reduce adrenal release of catecholamines and cortisol, and to support central cortisol receptor sensitization. Calm-PRT Jr is available in a berry flavored powder that can be mixed with water or juice. Calm-PRT Jr. also contains SerinAid 50P, a high-quality preparation of phosphatidylserine. Phosphatidylserine is a major component of cell membranes and has also been shown to restore sensitivity to desensitized cortisol receptors within the HPA axis. The amino acids glycine and taurine are included for additional inhibitory neurotransmitter support.

  • Rhondiola rosea extract in high concentrations reduces adrenal release of the catecholamines epinephrine and norepinephrine. Rhondiola rosea is considered an "adaptogenic" herb, which means it modulates high, as well as low activity in the adrenal gland.
  • SerinAid contains phosphatidylserine-enriched soy lecithin. Phosphatidylserine is a major phospholipid in the brain and is involved in many aspects of cellular membrane function. Studies have shown that phosphatidylserine is capable of restoring cortisol receptor sensitivity, thereby restoring proper communication within the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis.
  • Glycine is included as additional inhibitory neurotransmitter support.
  • Taurine acts as a GABA receptor agonist and is included as additional inhibitory neurotransmitter support.
Calm-PRT Jr. is used to promote sleep, reduce excitability, and re-establish a healthy HPA axis. It is frequently recommended for patients with elevated levels of norepinephrine, epinephrine, and cortisol.
