BodyBridge Benefits:
The BodyBridge by the Back Solution is a unique device designed to relieve
chronic low back pain and provide exercises for sciatica, herniated discs,
scoliosis and fibromyalgia. The BodyBridge provides great physical therapy that improves
spinal flexibility through passive traction and inversion therapy. Bending
backwards is no longer complicated but instead, is accomplished within a period
of weeks on the BodyBridge. The reason it is necessary to bend backwards is to
create the healthy state of spinal mobility. Most people are accustomed to
bending forward not backward. The key to spinal mobility is the ability to bend
forward and backward without pain or discomfort. Without spinal mobility you
will probably be experiencing some type of back pain or discomfort, from mild
to severe.
Experts generally agree that the body is designed to bend backward. This
ability of the spine separates us from primates and contributes to our upright
posture. Dr. Robert Martin, MD, a pioneer in modern therapeutic exercises, has
said "complete extension (bending backward) practiced with complete flexion
(bending forward) aids the spine to become properly positioned for balance.
Equally, it strengthens the muscles which do the balancing. It is the
equalization of tone produced by these exercises that brings about the balance
between the antagonistic muscle groups."
The key for spinal mobility is utilizing a product that works to decompress
the spine and trains the body to bend backward.
Only by decompressing the spine through passive traction can pressure be
taken off the discs, which cushion the vertrabre. The BodyBridge was designed
specifically to decompress the spine by training the body to bend backward.
Spinal mobility and the alleviation of pain or discomfort is the end result of
using the BodyBridge.

Question:
Is the Body Bridge Something I Could Use with Cervical Disc Disease?
Answer:
Q: I have degenerative disc disease, cervical disc disease, herniated discs @ C6 C7 and spinal stenosis @ C3. I also have bulging discs in the lumbar area. Is the Body Bridge by Back Solutions something I could use with cervical disc disease? I use a traction device several times a week. Thanks in advance for responding.
A: Short answer: Yes, the BodyBridge may benefit you especially with your herniated discs. Cervical disc disease may also be benefited via the BodyBridge.
How? Discs do not have their own blood flow. In order for discs to obtain nutrients, the spine must be mobile in numerous directions. Typically, people's neck muscles are too tight which compresses the cervical vertebrae and restricts movement. The restricted movement and cervical compression leads to decreased nutrients to the cervical discs. This is one cause of cervical disc disease. The BodyBridge may be able to reduce your herniated discs and thereby decrease pain.
The reason why the BodyBridge may reduce your herniated discs and prevent further disc compression is because: Muscles attach to vertebrae. Tight muscles then compress the vertebrae. Compressed vertebrae leads to disc compresssion. Disc compression leads to herniated discs. You can adjust the intensity of the stretch by how far you lean over and the duration as well.
Great positions to get into on the BodyBridge:
- Lay on your back
- Lay on your left side with your right arm laying on the right side of your back
- Slowly raise your right arm up to a 90 degree position and continue as you can to reach your right arm all the way so your shoulder is touching your right ear
- Slowly raise it back up and lay your arm back on your side
- Repeat 3 times. Then repeat this while laying on your right side.
Depending which way your herniated discs are bulging, you should lean the opposite direction on the BodyBridge. This will loosen the tight muscles opposing the herniated disc which will slowly allow the disc to return back into its natural position. Determine which direction the herniated discs protrude and then focus on stretching the opposite side of the bulging disc and gently strengthening the same side of the bulging disc.
I have personally used the Bridge for over 7 years. It has helped me immensely with my compressed cervical, thoracic and sacral vertebrae. I was raised on a horse ranch, was a varsity oarsman for University or Washington and then did landscape construction for a number of years. The BodyBridge pulled me out of a potential nightmare situation. Had I not stretched out my compressed vertebrae with the BodyBridge, I too would be suffering from herniated discs and cervical disc disease.
Should you have additional questions, please do ask.
