About BodyBio PC Liquid Phosphatidylcholine 16 fl Ounce - BodyBio

Formulated with a 4:1 Ratio of Omega 6to Omega 3 in liquid form.

Listen to the CEO of BodyBio speak with Dr.Ben on a podcast. The interview goes over fatty acids, such as supplementation with Phosphatidylcholine (listen at 13:00 min mark). The interview begins with an overview liquid mineral testing.

Of the tens of thousands of molecules that make up the life of a cell, Phosphatidylcholine (PC) stands apart; probably the most important one of all. BodyBio PC is made of only pure phospholipids which automatically form liposomes in the watery environment of the body, but it goes one important step further… it is also formulated with the essential lipids at a 4:1 ratio. Most PC currently available has an EFA ratio of ~12:1. BodyBio PC not only has a higher concentration of phospholipids, up to 66%, but also maintains EFA concentration at the preferred 4:1 ratio, a BodyBio exclusive.

What is BodyBio PC?

BodyBio PC is a special, highly concentrated mixture of phospholipids with the highest one being Phosphatidylcholine. The key fact is that PC declines with age and disease.

What is the recommended dosage/administration?

1-2 teaspoons per day or as directed by your physician.

What are the exact ingredients in BodyBio PC?

Phosphatidylcholine, Phosphatidylethanolamine (minor phospholipids & glycolipids), 4:1 essential fatty acids, and ethanol.

Why is Ethanol in BodyBio PC?

Ethanol is used to extract the phospholipids from the soy concentrate. The ethanol is then removed by vacuum distillation; however there is a small amount that is left ~ 2%

What is a Phospholipid?

Chemically speaking, phospholipids are the active component in lecithin. Compared to a typical fat or triglyceride (“Tri” meaning three fatty acids attached) phospholipids normally contain two fatty acids and in place of the third fatty acid they have a phosphorous containing head group. A phospholipid is unique because its tail likes oil and its head group likes water. When a phospholipid comes in contact with water, it spontaneously forms a “bi-layer structure”. The bi-layer functions as the “skin” or “membrane” of living cells and organelles.

Another crucial component of a phospholipid is the type of fatty acids attached to it. A phospholipid such as soy-derived polyenylphosphatidylcholine is rich in linoleic and linolenic acid, polyunsaturated fatty acids, that provide “fluidity” to the cell membrane. Maintaining membrane fluidity is crucial, as the membrane is crucial to the majority of cellular activities. BodyBio PC is formulated with those important essential oils, the omega 6 and the omega 3’s at a 4:1 ratio. 4 parts of omega 6 from organic sunflower oil and 1 part of omega 3 from organic flax oil.

What is BodyBio PC most commonly used for?

BodyBio PC rebuilds the membrane and increases fluidity, which is synonymous with saying that PC is life itself.

If I am allergic to Soy can I take BodyBio PC?

Eating the seeds of some plants may trigger an allergic response but the oil extracted from the seeds does not. During the oil extraction process the proteins are separated from the oil. Since it is the protein that can cause an allergic reaction one does not need to worry about the oil. The FDA specifically states that oils do not contribute to allergies.*

While soybeans are regarded as allergenic foods, Lecithin (a by-product of soybean oil production) is not because allergens are found only in the protein fraction. The process of oil separation requires dissolving the soybean in a solvent (such as hexane). Proteins do not dissolve in the solvent and are therefore separated out. Lecithin is then used as an ingredient in many food products and is the base material for BodyBio PC.

However, BodyBio PC requires additional processing (which tends to insure the removal of any remaining protein fractions) to arrive at a high concentration of phospholipids, providing quality PC.

Is BodyBio PC Safe & are there any potential side effects?

There are no known side effects with BodyBio PC.

What if I am taking other medications?

There are no known conflicts with any medication.

Is BodyBio PC a drug?

No, it’s a phospholipid

*This information is currently in the FDA labeling regulations, which also excludes manufacturers of supplements from any requirement for posting an allergic warning message on products that only contain oil..

Question: Will the Soy in BodyBio PC Liquid Cause Bloating in Sensitive Individuals?
Answer:

Q: Soy tends to bloat me therefore I don't eat it. Will Bio Body PC Liquid, a soy based product, do the same?

A: The bloating aspect from soy is caused by the soy proteins. BodyBio PC contains phosphatidylcholine which is made up mainly of fatty acids with a few amino acids on the end.

There is a bit of ethanol to preserve the phosphatidyl choline. Ethanol stimulates digestion which decreases bloating and gas.

Start the doses of BodyBio PC small and work up. I recommend that you eat some food with BodyBioPC.

I prefer the liquid form of BodyBioPC but if you prefer the BodyBio PC gelatin capsules, choose those. The taste of the liquid BodyBio PC is pretty strong.

A trick:
- Limit the amount of beverages you drink during meals as beverages dilute digestive enzymes and digestive acids thereby causing bloating and gas.

- Chew your food very very well. Japanese say: Chew your water, drink your food." Chewing allows greater surface area of the food to be exposed to the intestines. This allows increased absorption of nutrients which reduces bloating and gas.

- Before eating a meal which contains a fair amount of protein, like soy, add 1 teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar and squeeze a slice of lemon into 1/2 cup of filtered water. Sip. Wait 10 to 15 minutes and then eat. Your digestion will be greatly stimulated by this concoction.

Should you have further questions, please do ask.

    • I'd like to know how to take the BodyBio PC Liquid Phosphatidylcholine. I tried it once just on a spoon, and it was rather nasty. I know I really need this, and would like to know how do you recommend taking it?
    • The liquid BodyBio PC is pretty potent. It is also more cost-effective to take the liquid vs the gelatin capsules. http://www.healthegoods.com/bodybio-pc-phosphatidylcholine-300-capsules-bodybio.html I simply take BodyBio PC liquid and swallow it. You may hold your breath while taking it as sense of smell is needed to taste. Then wash it down with something you enjoy. I find the taste to be not that bad but we are all different ;) Best Dr Ben

    • My 7 yr old son has autism and is non verbal. He weighs 65 lbs how much should I give him?
    • Hello - One teaspoon a day of Phosphatidylcholine a day may be a good starting point for him - make sure to give with food. I'd like to take a moment to inform you of a forum that you should consider: http://www.ch3nutrigenomics.com/phpBB2/index.php Dr Amy Yasko has some great information here and there are like-minded parents along with kids trying to overcome autism. Autism needs to be worked on from the foundation and outward. It is very overwhelming for parents to try and determine what is best for their child if there is no plan. I highly recommend you consider very specific lab testing for your child if you haven't done so already. Also - if you haven't eliminated wheat and dairy from his diet, I HIGHLY encourage you to do so. I wish you the best - and for your son. Autism is reversible under the right care! I am available for consults should you desire more information from me. Happy to help. http://www.healthegoods.com/consult.html In health, Dr Ben

  • My 2 year old son is a late talker at 12/24/11 4:58 PM
    • I have a 2 year old son who doesn't say more then 2 words: mama and car. He was evaluated by EIP and he is not eligible for the program. I am very concerned about his talking and I found out that Phosphatidylcholine (PC) would be helpful for late talkers.
Please tell me if I can give it to him and in what quantities and for how long.
      Thank you very much.
    • Hello - There are many potential reasons for late talking. The taste of phosphatidyl choline is not that good so you need to mask it in some applesauce. Consider giving him 1 teaspoon a day for a week and then try to increase to 2 tsp a day. I recommend limiting wheat and dairy foods. Probiotics are critical. Consider ProBiota Infant (use up to 3 yrs old) and give him 1/2 teaspoon each evening after dinner: http://www.healthegoods.com/pro-biota-infant-powder-60-grams-seeking-health.html Have him starting to interact more with other children. Have him say words and not use fake words to get what he wants. This way he will be forced to talk. There are other things that are needed for late talkers but an amino acid profile would be the best way to check this. http://www.healthegoods.com/amino-acid-profile-40-plasma.html GABA can be low in those who talk late. Consider Focus Fizz by Biogenesis and give him 1 scoop a day. http://www.healthegoods.com/focus-fizz-30-servings-by-biogenesis.html Fish oil is also needed. Frutol by Pharmax tastes excellent. Consider 1 heaping teaspoon a day. http://www.healthegoods.com/frutol-finest-pure-fish-oil-pharmax-emulsified-prebiotics-fruit-purees.html Consider checking his iron levels - and for anemia. Anemia is very common in children. Have his doctor check for serum ferritin. A chewable kid's multivitamin may be a good idea as well. Consider giving him 1/4 a chewable tablet of Optimal Multivitamin twice a day - with breakfast and lunch. http://www.healthegoods.com/optimal-multivitamin-60-chewable-tablets-seeking-health.html If he is not yet on Vitamin D3, consider giving him 1,000 IU of vitamin D3 per 25 lbs of body weight. Each drop of Vitamin D360 contains 2000 IU of Vitamin D3. If he weighs 25 pounds, just give him 1 drop every 2 days. Or you can give him 4 drops once a week. http://www.healthegoods.com/liquid-vitamin-d360-1-oz.html Keep me posted how he does. In health, Dr Ben

  • My 2 year old son is a late talker at 12/24/11 7:17 PM
    • Thank you for your very quick and helpful response.
I just wanted to add that my son is vegetarian and I am very careful with his diet. He's taking multivitamins with iron, flaxseed oil (1 tsp/day) and ground flaxseed (1tbs/day).
I hope that his vegetarian diet is not related with his talking.
I''ll try to follow your advice and give him the supplements recommended.
      Thank you very much.
    • Hello - Being vegetarian may be related as those who are vegetarian are commonly B12 deficient. Don't stress about it though. If he is deficient, you can readily improve it. The nutrients I recommended will definitely help. I totally respect those who are vegetarian - it is just difficult to get all the nutrients needed - especially B12. The Sublingual Active B12 with Methylfolate could be the trick - but the others are needed as well for his optimal health. http://www.healthegoods.com/sublingual-active-b12-metafolin-seeking-health.html Best Dr Ben
