Alen A375UV Multi-Gas HEPA Air Purifier is Dr Ben's Preferred Air Filter
Alen's A375UV Multi-Gas HEPA Air Purifier has all of the same features as the A350 air purifier, but also includes a titanium dioxide filter for multi-gas filtration, 2 UV lamps that neutralize bacteria and viruses, dust and odor sensors, a remote control, and a built-in Ionizer that minimizes pollutants.
The A375UV Multi-Gas HEPA Air Purifier delivers the most comprehensive air-cleaning performance at a price that is far below its premium counterpart. In addition to allergen control, the UV lamps with Photo-Catalytic Oxidation (UV-PCO) technology can significantly reduce the levels of volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) in your home or office.
A large contributing factor to poor indoor air quality is the release of VOC’s. Also called hydrocarbons, VOC's vaporize due to sufficiently high vapor pressures. These dangerous carbon-based gases are emitted from a variety of common household items such as: paint, carpeting, copiers/printers, wood laminate (formaldehyde), wood preservatives, paint thinner, glues, permanent markers, cosmetics and certain aerosols and plastics.
According to the EPA, if there is not sufficient ventilation with the outdoor air and VOC's are present, the indoor pollution levels can be up to 10 times higher than that of the outdoor air--this includes urban areas. The A375UV's UV-POC technology reduces the levels of harmful VOC's. The interaction of UV-C light and a permanent titanium dioxide (TiO2) grid serves as a photocatalyst to carry out hydrolysis (water breaking into hydrogen and oxygen).
As TiO2 is exposed to UV light, it becomes increasingly hydrophilic; thus, it can be used to reduce concentrations of airborne pollutants--such as VOC's--into harmless elements. As a safety feature, the UV-C lights and titanium dioxide grid are located on the inner most section of the A375UV to prevent the user from coming into contact with the UV lights rays.

HOW TO CLEAN AND MAINTAIN YOUR AIR PURIFIER
Warning: Prior to cleaning or other maintenance, your air purifier must be unplugged from the power supply.
A350 and A375UV:
1. With the front of the unit facing up, pull the lower end of the inlet grill.
2. Remove the inlet grill from the unit.
3. Remove the HEPA filter by lifting the pull string.
T100 and T300:
1. Release the inlet grill by pressing from the locking switch and pull forward
2. Remove the inlet grill from the unit.
3. Grasp the right and left frame of the filters through the recess on the side of the filter enclosure, and remove the filters.
The pre-filter for all four models can be removed from the HEPA filter for cleaning. After cleaning, the pre-filter can be reused. Clean the pre-filter after every 200-300 hours of use, or you can clean it according to the air condition in the room. The pre-filter can be cleaned with a vacuum or by washing. Clean the inlet grill after every 200-300 hours of use as well.
HOW TO ASSEMBLE AND USEReminder: Make sure the HEPA filter is properly installed before use. Where to Locate: - Keep the unit at least 2 yards away from the TV set, radio, or other electronics to avoid interference.
- Do not blow air directly into the air purifier.
- Keep both sides of the unit more than 6 inches away from the wall.
- Do not place the unit where the air inlet or outlet grill could come in contact with a curtain.
- Place the air purifier in a well-ventilated location of the room.
- Placing the unit close to the source of the air pollution may further improve indoor air quality.
Setting the Control Panel for the A375UV Multi-Gas HEPA Air Purifier: - Plug the unit into an electric outlet. Press the On/Off button to start the unit, re-press it to stop.
- While the air purifier is turned on the fan will run at medium speed for 3 seconds before running at low speed (default speed). Press the speed button each time, and the fan speed will cycle.
- While the air purifier is on, press the TIMER button to the desired run time (hours). The air purifier will automatically turn off once the timer has counted down to zero.
- Press the ion key to turn on the ionizer while the fan is running, press it again to turn off the ionizer.
- Press the UV lamp button to turn on the UV lamp, which is used to help to kill harmful bacteria in the air. Press it again to turn off the UV lamp.
- When the HEPA replacement light is lit up the HEPA filters needs to be replaced.
- When the unit runs in auto mode, the dust and odor sensors can sense the air quality in the room and automatically adjust the fan speed. The particle sensor can sense the presence of tobacco and dust particles in the air. The higher the dust particle level, the further the indicator bar moves from left to right.
- The odor sensor can also detect cosmetic and aerosol odors. As the odor level increases, the odor indicator's bar moves from right to left. If the air purifier is moved to a new location, the sensor needs a short period of time to adjust to the new environment. During this time the indication of air cleanliness may not reflect the real air conditions.
Filter Replacement: When the filter is replaced, press the TIMER button for 5 seconds to RESET the filter replacement indicator light.
NOTICE: If the air quality is extremely poor, you may replace the HEPA filter before all the bars are lit.
Replacing the UV Bulb: - Before replacing the UV bulb, please unplug the unit and remove the cover.
- Lay down the unit and pull up on the lower end of the front cover and push toward the display panel at the top and remove.
- Remove the HEPA filter by lifting the pull strings on either side of the filter.
- Remove the metal bar across the UV bulb by removing the R. & L. screws.
- Hold the edge of the UV bulb and gently twist a quarter turn until it unlocks from the socket. Pull the pins out of the side of the socket, one at a time.
- Remove the UV bulb. Gently handle the new UV bulb on the ends only.
- Gently insert the UV bulb into the socket and twist a quarter backward and put back the metal bar with the screws.
- Reinstall the cover by hinging it at the top and pressing the bottom of the cover to snap into place.
